Replacement connecting rod for obsolete speedaire pump 2Z499
I have owned my sears 20 gallon 2hp compressor for more than 30 years. It has served me well over the years and I run it almost every day. The only reason it has lasted this long is because it is built to last if properly maintained. I always maintain and repair it as necessary except for recently when I let the pump run out of oil which froze one of the rods which then snapped in half. I was able to shut her down before the broken rod could cause catastrophic damage. This replacement rod was hard to find and I was surprised it was available. I installed it this week and found it to be a perfect fit. The only concern I have is that the crankshaft journal width is much narrower than the original. Master tool repair says it will work fine so I’ll find out when I run the compressor for a while
