Description
Campbell Hausfeld Valve Plate Kit includes both Valve Plates and Reed Valves. NO gaskets included.
Note: Please order a quantity of 2 for a complete repair.
The concave areas of the valve plates should both be sandwiched on the inside; in other words, the flat sides face the head on one and the cylinder on the other. As the piston descends, it will pull the intake valve into the concave area (the bottom valve plate) from the air filter side. As the other piston ascends, it will push the exhaust valve into the concave area up into the head and out to the intercooler tube or to the transfer tube to the tank.
If air leaks out of the intake filter or if the compressor just isn't performing like it should, order this kit. A loss of pressure or slow pressurization is usually caused by faulty gaskets and/or damaged or sticking valves.
Remember to tighten the bolts down to the proper torque specs as noted by the manufacturer.
